Deepest condolences to the Grassmyer family at their loss. As a former student in the 60"s, I still remember the gentleman educator letting everyone know how welcome they were by greeting us at the door with a smile and "hello." A sincerely kind and caring person who truly set a high standard as a humanitarian, scholar and athlete for his students. Mr. Grassmyer, you and your lovely smile are missed!

Mrs. Grassmyer and family:
I was very saddened upon hearing of the passing of Leon.
It also brought back many fond memories I have of him going back to when he was both a coach and teacher of mine from the early to mid 1960's.
I also recall the many talks we had on the success and failure of the Phillies through the years.
When they finally won their first ever World Series title back in 1980, he was one of the first persons I thought of even though I hadn't spoken to him in many years.
I shall always remember him with much respect and proud to have called him a friend.
