I am so sorry that this is late but I was just told of Pastor Rupes passing this morning. I have warm feeling for him as he was my pastor though grade school and high school.I played basketball with his son Steve. He was a good man.

Mattie & family, My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. It was a lovely service, and I know you all will miss him. Dean was certainly a gentleman, gracious, fun, great sense of humor and lots of charisma, at least that's the way I remember him. He made being a teenager at St. Luke's a good thing. I know he is at peace and probably being very humorous with God. I know you all have happy memories, keep them close and smile when sadness comes. Lots of hugs to each of you.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Pastor Rupe (and Maddie) were so generous and kind with Todd and I. His faith and your family have always been an inspiration to me even in my adulthood. I continue to teach church school and work with my church because of the strong example set by Pastor Rupe and your family. I pray you may be comforted by hearing from many folks what an impact Pastor Rupe's kindness and gentle witness of faith have had. Praying comfort and peace for the family left behind. May he rest in peace until reunited with everyone again in our Heavenly Father's mansions.

To the Rupe Family,

When the Lord calls a loved one home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange.
Hold on to those memories and let them guide you during this time of sadness.

I first met Pastor Rupe as a teenager at the Lutheran Camp out the Valley. He was a very soft spoken and gentle person and remains in my mind as one-of-a-kind.

Sincerely
Mary (Treaster) Pusep

Dear Mrs. Rupe and family, Please accept my sympathy in the passing of Dean--such a wonderful man. I remember when he was at Centre Hall St. Luke and how much I admired him (and Mrs. Rupe and young Steven). I'm so glad to have known him and his family!

In 1968 my brother was killed in Vietnam. The first person to arrive at our house in Yeagertown after the word came was Pastor Rupe. We were not members of his congregation but he came immediately and was such a comfort to my parents. Our family was always grateful for his kindness.
Our condolences to your family on losing such a special man.

Dear Family,

My heartfelt sympathies and love to each of you as you mourn the loss of a truly kind, loving and wonderful man. I am not able to truly put into words how important his help and the late night hours he spent with me, just letting me talk were as I journeyed thru a rough time in my life. Over the years he and Maddy continued to provide a wonderful friendship and words of encouragement as I entered into full time ministry. Thank you, Pastor Rupe. Thank you family for sharing him with all of us.

We send our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to each of you. There is little we can say that you do not already know about the remarkable man Pastor Dean was to all he met. We feel so very privileged that he presided at our wedding and baptism of Sarah and Rachel. He was a powerful yet gentle spiritual leader with an infectious laugh who spread joy where ever he went. May you be blessed with good memories too numerous to count. Much love, Rich and Sue Burns
