Howard “Rick” Rishel, Jr., 39, of Lewistown, passed away due to heart complications on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born August 8, 1976 in Lewistown, he was the son of Wendy Bender and the late Howard “Rick” Rishel, Sr.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman and Gladys Rishel, and Thomas, Sr. and Margaret Bender.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Alice Rishel Swan, Michelle Rishel, and Brad Forshey and his companion, Missy Kuykendall, all of Lewistown.
Rick was a member of City Hook & Ladder Co. 14.
In his youth, he was an exceptional baseball, football player and skateboarder, and later became a pretty tough contender playing hoops at Lewistown Rec Park basketball games.
Rick loved his Phillies, Eagles, and the Democratic party. He also loved his family and friends and was considered the only non-judgmental Bender.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
There will be no interment.
