Alice S. Norris, 89, formerly of Lewistown died at 5:07 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2015 at Country Meadows of York.
Born Oct. 20, 1925 in Carbondale she was a daughter of the late Albert and Rena (Highhouse) Burdick.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James L. Norris, Aug. 19, 2007, whom she married on Aug. 15, 1944.
She is survived by: her children, Linda J. Randolph, of York, Suzanne Hartley, of Harrisburg, and James L Norris, Jr. of Felton; her brother, Gordon A. Emmett, of Uniondale; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Earlier in life she had worked as a clerk at the Bon Ton Dept. Store, retiring in 1982.
Alice was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a former member of Lake Park U.M.C.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 2 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman and The Rev. Roland E. Garvin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
