Wanda (Pagana) Shannon Clews, 92, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, at Valley View Retirement Community in Belleville.
Born July 26, 1928, in Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late C. Charles and Veida (Jones) Pagana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: first husband, Harry E. Shannon, whom she married in 1949, on Jan. 5, 1965; second husband, Walter E. Clews, whom she married in 1978, on Nov. 17, 2013; brother-in-law, G. Edward Miller; sister-in-law, Lenora (Shannon) Koons and her husband, Marty Koons; and a nephew, Douglas Miller.
She is survived by: her sons, David A. Shannon and wife, Nancy, of Three Rivers, Mich., and Thomas E. Shannon and wife, Sue-Ann, of Columbia, S.C.; three grandsons, Matthew Shannon and his wife, Sonya, Andrew Shannon, and Phillip Shannon and his wife, Brenda; a granddaughter, Ravane Cristino and her husband, Patrick; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Constance Miller, of Reedsville; two nieces; and two nephews.
Wanda graduated from Mount Union High School, Class of 1946.
She retired from the Pa. Department of Labor and Industry where she was employed as a workers’ compensation clerk.
Wanda enjoyed traveling, crocheting, ceramics, Crusader football, doing puzzles with her friend Margaret, and cooking. Her cheesecake recipe is still being shared with family and friends. She devoted her life to her family and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown, followed by the memorial service, with Pastor Vaughn Kanagy officiating.
Interment will take place at Saint Mark’s Community Cemetery, Lewistown.
