Terry “Tink” Orville Burkey, 85, passed away April 5, 2020, at Ohesson Manor.
Born April 4, 1935, in Alexandria, he was the son of the late Terry and Lena Catherine Burkey. His wife of 52 years, the former Janet M. Palm, of Lewistown, survives.
Terry attended Juniata Valley High School, Alexandria, and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean conflict.
He had been employed at Marlette Homes and then later retired from Alltrista Plastics. He enjoyed spending time at his camp, which was located on the old family homestead in Huntington, Penn State football and spoiling his grandchildren and his shelties and numerous cats.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Holly Burkey, of Alexandria; a stepson, Tracy Palm and his wife, Beth, of Havre de Grace, Md. and a stepdaughter, Kimbra Fisher and wife, Lisa Barneycastle, of Mechanicsburg. Also, surviving are grandchildren, Kristin Mills, Garth Wilson, Nathan Palm and Natalie Palm; and nine great-grandchildren.
Terry is also survived by his brothers, Charles Burkey, of Swift Current Sask., Canada, Clyde Burkey and wife, Frieda, of Petersburg, Tommy Burkey and wife, Margaret, of Yeagertown, Donald Burkey and wife, Georgette, of Lewistown, Jimmy Burkey and wife, Leslie, of Suffolk, VA.
Also, surviving are his sisters, Lucy Jean Showalter, Mary P. Burkey, and Judy Gill, all of Alexandria. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
