Ronald N. 'Lenny' Moore

Ronald N. ‘Lenny’ Moore, 80, of Reedsville, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021, at his home with family by his side. He was the husband of Judy (Treaster) Moore with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage on June 3, 2020.

Lenny was born June 15, 1940, in Yeagertown to Arvad B. and Lorena E. (Norris) Moore.

He was a 1959 graduate of Chief Logan High School.  Following graduation, Lenny served in the Army and was a member of Co. “B” 491st Combat Engineers.

He was a crane operator for Standard Steel, retiring with 50 years of service.

Lenny was an avid football fan; he cheered vigorously for his Penn State Nittany Lions, and he officiated PIAA football for 46 years. 

He was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Yeagertown.

Lenny and his wife found joy in their children and their grandchildren and spent much of their free time attending their events and gathering with them. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Krista, wife of Joe Branco, of Lancaster and Betsy Nush, of Easton; four grandchildren: Jocelyn Branco, Kyler Branco, Caleb Nush, and Rece Nush; and siblings, Betty Niman, of Mifflintown, Gloria Wagner (Ralph), of Reedsville, Donald ‘Dan’ Moore (Casey) of Lewistown; sisters-in-law, Rita Moore, of Washington and Joyce Moore, of Lewistown. 

In addition to his parents, Lenny was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers, Janet Warner, Sherman Moore, and Richard ‘Dick’ Moore.

Lenny was a friend to everyone. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lenny’s memory to Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 132 N. Main St., Yeagertown, PA 17099.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021, at Juniata Memorial Park, with special services provided by VFW Post 7011 and Rev. Philip Tundell officiating. Guests are asked to wear a mask while in attendance.
