Robert S. Pinkerton, 75, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born August 25, 1946, near Gary, Indiana he was the son of the late Robert Gibson and Barbara (Hadley) Pinkerton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alan H. Pinkerton. He is survived by his wife B. Diann (Albright) Pinkerton; a daughter Catharine M. (Cady) Pinkerton of Lewistown; and an aunt, Kathryn Inskeep, of Kilmarnock, Virginia. Robert was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for many years.
He grew up in the Pittsburgh area where he graduated from high school, he then received a Bachelor of Science degree from Adrian College, and then a master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Michigan. Robert was a Vietnam Army veteran holding the rank equivalent to a Sergeant during the war.
He was a medical technologist at Lewistown Hospital, where he served as Microbiology supervisor in the medical laboratory for many years.
Robert loved trains and birds, he enjoyed being outdoors, working in his garden, and puttering around the house. He loved his family dearly and had a quirky sense of humor. Robert loved to laugh and smile, and he loved bringing joy and laughter to others.
A visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 21 South Main Street, Lewistown. The memorial service for Robert will start at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Harwood officiating.
Interment will take place immediately after the service in St. Mark’s courtyard columbarium.
Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.
