Phyllis Jean Smith, 90, of Valley View Village, Belleville, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020.
Born Dec. 13, 1929, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Grace A. (Ort) Gross.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband, Ross L. Smith; a daughter, Rhonda L. Heller; a sister, Shirley M. Bloom Smith; and a brother, James H. Gross.
She is survived by: son, Daniel R. Smith and wife, Brenda, of Apex, N.C.; three grandchildren, Todd Heller, of Oakland California, Danie J. Heimbach and husband, Clint, of Springfield, MO., Haley B. Skaer and husband, Erik, of Nokesville, VA.; and four great-grandchildren, Tallon and Ryder Heimbach, of MO., Zane and Cullen Skaer, of VA.
Phyllis was a member of Calvary Bible Church.
She was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1947.
In her earlier years, she worked at the Bon-Ton.
Phyllis was active in girl scouts, and the ladies merchant bowling league. She loved sewing and needlework.
Services are private and held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
