Paul Simonetti, 100, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born February 3, 1922, in Burnham, he was a son of the late Anthony and Emanuella (Villano) Simonetti and his late stepmother Caterina (Batista) Simonetti.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Faust) Simonetti; son, Paul Simonetti Jr.; a granddaughter; six brothers; and seven sisters.
He is survived by; children, Mary Kay Harper and the late Donald, of Audubon, Georgette Burkey and husband, Donald, of Lewistown, Robert A. Simonetti and wife, Sue, of Bellefonte, and Ronald Simonetti and wife, Michelle, of Mount Joy; grandchildren, Donald Harper and wife, Angela, of CO., Kelly Harper and wife, Valorie, of Pottstown, Brian Simonetti and fiancé, Rita Yaniviak, of Harrisburg, Jennifer Shawver and husband, Brian, of McClure, Ronald Osborne and wife, Allyson, of Ohio, Steve Burkey and wife, Candy, of Lewistown, Stephanie Burkey, of Beaver Springs, Joshua Simonetti and wife, Shevel, of Bellefonte, Jessica James and husband, Tyler, of Bellefonte, Aaron Simonetti and wife, Lauren, of GA., Kelsey Arnold and husband, Nathaniel, of Mount Joy; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson; four sisters, Annie Smith, of Burnham, Ange Landsey, of CT., Catherine Royer and husband, Ronald, of Burnham, Judy Peters and husband, Bob, of Lewistown.
Paul was a member of Knights of Columbus, the Lewistown Elks Lodge No. 663, Lewistown Moose Lodge, and a lifetime member of Fame, Brooklyn, and City Hook and Ladder Fire Companies.
Earlier in life, he worked as a general foreman in maintenance at Standard Steel for 40 years, retiring in 1982.
He enjoyed music and was self-taught in guitar, organ, piano, accordion, and harmonica. Paul loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
A second viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the funeral home followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Joshua Simonetti officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
