Patsy Lee (Knepp) Simonetti, 92, of Ruth Ridge Drive, Lancaster, passed away peacefully at home and went to be with her Lord on January 15, 2021.
Born January 9, 1929, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Luther O. and Harriet (Lenhart) Knepp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cyril S. Simonetti, and beloved son, Michael S. Simonetti.
Patsy is survived by: her son, Stephen L. Simonetti, and daughter and longtime caregiver to both Patsy and Cyril, Andrea L. Haus (Daniel), all of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Patsy enjoyed growing up in rural Pennsylvania. As a youth, she was an adventurous girl who loved to ride her bicycle all over Kish Valley and enjoyed swimming in the Juniata River and spending time at Greenwood Furnace. She fondly reminisced of listening to all the wonderful music and programming on the radio. Patsy briefly worked at Henry’s Dairy Lunch and at the Arrow Shirt Factory. She married the love of her life in March of 1947 and dedicated her time to raising their three children. She enjoyed cooking, housework and spending time with her grandchildren. An animal lover, Patsy had many cats throughout her life and would often take in strays. She had a creative side and would write short stories and sketch caricatures and profiles. She also enjoyed history and would discuss any topic at length. Patsy was a patriot and loved the classic American way of life.
