Patricia "Patty" J. Swanger, 71, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born Oct. 4, 1948, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Boyd P. and Jane A. (McCurry) Wertz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Susan Smith and Kathleen "Kathy" Walls.
Patty is survived by: husband, John Ronald Swanger; brother, John B. Wertz and wife, Suzanne, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and nephews and nieces, Craig Smith and wife, Leslie, of Mount Joy, Jennifer (Smith) Edwards and husband, David, of State College, Amy (Wertz) Moreau, of Coleman, Ga., Mitchell Wertz, of West Chester, Brad Walls, of Lewistown, and Amanda Walls, of Pine Hill, N.J.
Patty was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church.
She was a Chief Logan High School graduate.
She was employed by the Viscose, Standard Steel, and at SunPointe Health Psychology Group, State College, as an administrative assistant. Lastly, she could be seen welcoming guests to The Logan House in Burnham.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, at Lake Park United Methodist Church, 400 Crystal Springs Avenue, Lewistown, with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date at Mount Rock Cemetery, Oakland Avenue, Lewistown.
