Mary M. Gill, 66, of Lewistown, passed away at 2:23 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2021, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 23, 1954, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Janet Cora Strahin.
Mary is survived by: husband, Fred R. Gill Sr.; children, Fred R. Gill Jr. and wife, Mary, of Duncannon, Joseph Gill and wife, Carol, of Belltown, Betty Jo Carter and husband, Mark, of Milroy, Elizabeth Swartz and husband, Michael, John Gill and wife, Barbara, and James Gill, all of Lewistown; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and siblings, James Rumble, Keith Matro, Jenny Lowe, and Anastasia “Ana” Hosmer, all of Md., and Walthey Hensley, of West Va.
She was a member of Spring Run Church of the Brethren in McVeytown.
Early in life, she worked at Empire Kosher Poultry.
Mary loved cooking and baking for her family. She collected cookbooks and angels and enjoyed watching “The Golden Girls” on television. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Kate Gandy officiating.
Interment will take place at St. Mark’s Community Cemetery.
