Marlin L. Sipe, 93, of McClure, passed peacefully surrounded by his family, Monday, April 22, 2024.
Born on May 16, 1930, in McClure, he was the son of the late Martin L. and Mary Elizabeth (Erb) Sipe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis M. (Deamer) Sipe, who passed on Dec. 12, 2020; a daughter, Jennie M. Palm; six brothers and two sisters, William, Carl, Lewis, Herman, Ralph, and Kermit Sipe, Pauline McCahn, and Sara Snook.
He is survived by his children, Dean A. Sipe and wife, Deborah, of Strodes Mills, Brenda L. Weaver and husband, Charles D., of Marianna; four grandchildren, Leigh (Stricker) Irvin, of Tyrone, Sarah Sipe, of Rochester, NY, Christopher Sipe, of Strodes Mills, and Emily LaMarca (Ben) Rosenquist; three great-grandchildren, Tyson, Jordan and Austyn.
Marlin attended Lawvers United Methodist Church.
He was the owner and operator of Sipe’s Greenhouse in McClure.
He enjoyed woodcarving, hunting with family members and traveling with family and friends to Canada to go fishing.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bradley Zembower officiating.
Interment will take place at Samuel’s Cemetery.
