Marguerite L. “Margie” Varner, 92, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
Born April 5, 1927, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John T. and Mary (Foulk) Houser.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Willard (Bid) Varner; brother, Fenton L. Houser; and sister, Edna E. Beers.
She is survived by: son, Cole S. Varner and wife, Phyllis, of Lewistown; son, Cory S. Varner, of Burnham; grandchildren, Andrea Brechbiel and husband, Scott; Devin Varner; and Hannah Varner; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Zimmerman; Tylyn Snavely; and Rylie Snavely; and one great-great-granddaughter, Paisley Ritter; and many nieces and nephews.
Margie graduated from Lewistown High School in 1946.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
Margie formerly worked in the office of E.E. McMeen store, Krentzman Supply Co., craft shops, Artley Dress Shop and Hoenstine Funeral Home.
She enjoyed crafts, traveling, shopping and just being with family, especially her grandchildren.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
