Joyce Audrey (Hassinger) Damicantonio

Joyce Audrey Damicantonio, 91, of Reedsville, passed away at 1:02 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born Nov. 20, 1930, in Treaster Valley, she was a daughter of the late Harry F. and Bessie (Shank) Hassinger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Dominic A. Damicantonio, whom she married June 30, 1948, on March 3, 2018; brothers, Samuel, Glenn and Charles “Ray” Hassinger; and sisters, Marion Booher and Louise Mitchell.

Joyce is survived by: daughter, Linda Treaster and husband, David, of Reedsville; grandchildren, Gregory Treaster and wife, Stephanie, of Lewistown, and Cathy Daubert, of Milroy; three great-grandchildren, Emily and Noah Treaster, and Amanda Daubert; great-great-granddaughter, Kaylee Zook; and brother, Harold Hassinger, of Milroy.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Siglerville, and also attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown.

Early in life, Joyce was employed at ALERT, the shoe factory and Fisher’s Electronics.  She later retired from Unimark Plastics in 1994, with 18 years of service.

Joyce loved spending time with her family and traveling abroad.  She especially enjoyed being a member of her local card club that was originally comprised of five couples who met for over 60 years to play cards and socialize.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn location, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, with Reverend Kenneth Longfield officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1368 Siglerville Pike, Milroy, PA 17063.
