Obituary
Joseph Richard Walters, 92, of McClure, retired Army veteran passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at his home.
He was born on January 8, 1931, in Lewistown, and was the son of the late Arthur J. and Lu Lu (Shellhammer) Walters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Arthur D. Walters, Marion Dagnell and Jean Varish.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne (Stuter) Walters, of McClure; and three step-daughters; Cheryl Fox, of Belleville, Deanne Goss, and Lisa Busa, of Butler; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joseph was a member of Calvary Bible and Bible Baptist Church, he later attended Faith Bible Church in Port Royal.
He was owner of Walter's Sewing Center for over 60 years.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Faith Bible Church, Port Royal, with Mr. Dick Burchfield officiating.
Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery, with military honors provided by Juniata County Veterans Council.
