Jessie Olna Houser, 83, of Milroy, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020, at William Penn Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 15, 1937, in Manchester, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Olna and Jessie Kate (Gill) Taylor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Ammon Houser, whom she married August 20, 1958; and a brother, Clarence O. Taylor Jr.
She is survived by: children, Angela Renee Swartzell and husband, Kenneth Russell Sr., of Reedsville, Charles Olna Houser and wife, Nora Elizabeth, of Port Royal, Craig Edward Houser Sr., of Milroy, Kenneth Randall Houser Sr., of Milroy and wife, Andrea, of Lewistown, and Jason Michael Houser, of Dry Valley; grandchildren, Kenneth Russell Swartzell, Jr., Matthew Ryan Swartzell, Breanna Renee Jessie Swartzell, Charles Ammon Houser III, Zachary Daniel Houser, Jaimie Lynn (Houser) Smith, Craig Edward Houser Jr., Amanda Jo Houser, Kenneth Randall Houser Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; siblings, Betty Jean Gregg, Sara Ann Rosengrant, and Jerry Andrews Taylor, all of Georgia.
Jessie was a member of Milroy United Methodist Church, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a graduate of Manchester High School in Georgia, and a graduate of Piedmont University School of Nursing.
Earlier in life, she worked in the Mifflin County School District as a teacher’s aide. Charles and Jessie Houser established Houser’s Autobody in 1963.
Jessie loved to spend time with her family.
Services are private and held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery
