James S. Weyant Sr., 68, of Burnham, passed awaySunday, May 24, 2020, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born May 14, 1952, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Jane (Noble) Weyant.
He is survived by: wife, Deanna F. Weyant, whom he married Oct. 6, 2000; children, Robert D. Bowers and wife, Qui’va, of Virginia, Justin S. Weyant and companion, Michelle Farkas, of Burnham, Ashley E. Fisher and husband, Brian, of Lewistown, Cory G. Bowers, of York and James S. Weyant Jr., of McAlisterville; eight grandchildren, Alston, Jaden, Serenity, Konnor,
Brodie, Emma, Robert and Sammy; siblings, Sharon O’Reilly, of Colorado; and a nephew, Scott Hasson, of Burnham.
James was a 1971 graduate of Penn Highlands High School.
He was a United States Navy veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Yosemite.
James worked as a Custodian at the Lewistown Loyal Order of Moose and was a volunteer firefighter for City Hook and Ladder.
He loved being outdoors, going fishing, playing cornhole, throwing horseshoes, and playing cards.
James had a passion for preparing mouth-watering foods on the grill for his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and the
Washington Redskins.
A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Kish Park, with special honors provided by VFW Post 7011.
