Gerald D. Baumgardner Sr., 84, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 3, 1938, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Donald and Betty (Goss) Baumgardner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his sister, Donna Campbell.
He is survived by; wife, Kay (Smith) Baumgardner, whom he married on Nov. 26, 1995; children, Kim Eby, of Port Royal, Gerald ‘Chip’ Baumgardner and wife, Laura, of Mifflintown, Gerald D. Baumgardner Jr., and wife, Patricia, of Lewistown, Jeffrey Baumgardner and wife, Sue, of Lewistown, Wendy Bubb and husband, Donald Jr., of Lewistown, Kathy Baumgardner-Weigle and husband, Darvin, of Biglerville; step-children, Gary Baker and wife, Suzanne, of OH, Chuck Baker and wife, Carolyn, of Vandergrift, and Brian Baker and wife, Shona, of Lewistown; many loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; Gerald will be missed by his beloved dog, Cocoa.
He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge.
Gerald was a lifelong trucker and has been in all 50 states. He most proudly worked at Womeldorf Trucking in Yeagertown, ABF, and lastly at Class 1 Trucking.
He loved spending time with his family and going hunting.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham.
A second viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, January 27, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ethan Druckenmiller officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gerald’s memory to, Rescue Our Furry Friends (R.O.F.F.), P.O. Box 6, Lewistown, PA 17044.
