Faith L. Hassinger

Faith L. Hassinger, 76, of Milroy, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, November 11, 2021.

Born November 12, 1944, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late David C. and Laverda J. (Yoder) Bigelow.

She is survived by; her loving husband, Harold F. Hassinger, whom she married January 12, 1963; children, Jeanette L. Malinoski and husband, Paul, Judy L. Treaster and husband, Jeff, and Christian F. Hassinger and wife, Beth. She was very proud of her six grandchildren: Morgan Hassinger, Cameron Hassinger, Jordan Treaster, Dyson Treaster, Alexander Malinoski, Valerie Malinoski.

Siblings are Mrs. Buddy (Helen) Krepps, of Belleville, Mrs. Larry (Carol) Treaster, of Lewistown, Keith Bigelow and wife, (Nancy), of Reedsville, Lynn Bigelow and wife, (Lucy), of Milroy, Mrs. Ralph (Sharon) Fisher, of Lewistown, and Bonnie Bigelow, of Belleville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Bigelow, who passed away in 2019, and by a childhood brother, Gary David.

Faith was a Kishacoquillas High School graduate, Class of 1962. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Siglerville, and a member of the Mifflin County Garden Club and the District V GCFP. She helped with meals on wheels and was active in her church.

Faith was previously employed at Ball Corporation (Unimark Plastics) for 13 years and was the East Kish Lutheran Parish Church secretary for 10 years.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and having meals and picnics for her family and friends at the cabin. Faith was loved by all who knew her.

A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, PA 17009.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 15, 2021, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Siglerville, with Rev. Charles Hershberger officiating.

Interment will take place in Salem Cemetery.
