Dorothy Louise Rupert, 89, formerly of Lewistown, passed away January 30, 2023, at Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley in State College.
Born October 15, 1933, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Sheaffer and Rosie E. (Sheeler) Knepp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by; her husband, Ralph M. Rupert Jr.; children, Richard Eugene Rupert, and Gaye L. Moore; and a granddaughter, Mindy L. Moore.
She is survived by; children, Nancy Jo Watts and husband, Robert, of South Carolina and Max E. Rupert and wife, Angelika, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Eddie Watts, Jennifer Jenkins and husband, Dustin, Richard Edward Rupert and wife, Caitlyn, Michelle Thompson and husband, Johnny, Janina Mangiolino and husband, Leonardo, Tanya Helsel; great-grandchildren, Alyson and Abbigail Watts, Dyson and Jazlynn Jenkins, Raelyn and Kameryn Rupert, Veda Thompson, Nevaeh Helsel; and a great-great-grandson, Brextynn Helsel.
Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She attended Lewistown/Granville High School, and graduated from North Central High School, Class of 1983, in South Carolina. She received her associate degree in Secretarial Science in 1989.
In her younger years, she worked as a Line Supervisor at Fisher’s Electronics and later as a secretary.
Earlier in life, she enjoyed going bowling and playing softball. She loved to go and play Bingo.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jeannine Leister officiating.
Interment will take place at Lind Memorial cemetery.
