Dorothy L. Kratzer, 89, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Brookline Manor.
Born October 7, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Ruth M. (Walker) Schmidt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; her husband, Richard C. Kratzer in April 2012; two sons, Marshall Kratzer in 1979 and Stephen Kratzer in 2009; and siblings, Lois Basom, and William E. Schmidt Jr.
She is survived by; a sister, Margaret Rodkey, of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Angela Specht and husband Scott, of Lewistown, Stephanie Blasingame, of NC, and Stephen M. Kratzer and wife, Brittany, of Liverpool; six great-grandchildren; Kimberly Parker and husband Alan, Courtney, Madison, Daniel, Jackson, and Liberty; sister-in-law, Donna Carolus, of McVeytown; a former daughter-in-law and friend, Cynthia Gaisior, of Millerstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of Derry Township High School in Yeagertown where she earned her varsity letter in basketball. She also attended college at The Pennsylvania State University.
She worked as an office clerk for Area Agency on Aging in Lewistown and was a member of the Mifflin/Juniata Art League. Her hobbies included art, painting with watercolor, and watching basketball and football.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Interment will take place in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
