Betty Mae Hackenburg, 84, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at her home.
Born March 6, 1936, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late George I. Sr. and Margaret J. (Stringfellow) Walters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Calvin E. Hackenburg, in 1986; and brothers, Carl Leroy Walters and Joseph Ross Walters.
Betty is survived by: her five children, Ronald Walters and wife, Anna, Danny Lee Hackenburg and wife, Marge, and Peggy Sue Stine and husband, Michael, all of Lewistown, Joseph Ross Hackenburg and wife, Patricia, of McClure, and Brenda Kay Crosson, of New Lancaster Valley; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, George I. Walters Jr. and wife, Rosella, of Lewistown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church.
Betty was employed in the Polyester Department of the American Viscose Corporation for 30 years.
She loved being outdoors, taking rides in the mountains, and flower gardening.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at Maitland Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Lewistown.
Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
