Wilbur H. “Midge” Bottorf Sr., 93, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday evening, April 7, 2018, at Ohesson Manor.
Born Nov. 22, 1924, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Wilbur L. and Edna (Lepley) Bottorf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Deloris J. “Sis” Bottorf, on May 7, 2002; and his four siblings, Sara Sourbeck, Jean Winter, Mildred Knepp, and William Bottorf.
Midge is survived by: his children, Alan Bottorf and companion, Margaret Lippert, of Enola, Karen Burke and husband, Timothy, of Lewistown, Wilbur H. “Red” Bottorf Jr., of Dillsburg, and Annette Bottorf, of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Cory Reigle, and Christy and Samantha Bottorf; and three great-grandchildren, Denisha Reigle, Cory Reigle Jr., and Samara Snyder.
He graduated from Lewistown High School and vocational school.
He served in the U.S. Army with the 503rd Military Police Company at Fort Bragg during the Korean Conflict.
Midge was an active member of Lewistown Assembly of God Church throughout his life and loved his church family.
He was a self-employed repairman for many years and later, was employed by Fosselman’s TV and Appliances, where he retired.
Midge loved roller skating and skated well into his late 80’s.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 13, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Robert S. Coutts officiating.
Interment will take place in Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
