Ruth Ann Shingler, 75, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Locust Grove Retirement Village.
Born June 9, 1943, in Lewistown, she was a daughter to the late Dallas and Evelyn (Spiglemyer) Winegardner.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Jeanie Gibbons and Robert Eugene Winegardner.
She is survived by: husband, John E. Shingler, whom she married on July 25, 1964; children, Frank D. Shingler and wife, Beth, of McClure, Brenda S. Walters and husband, Donald, of Lewistown, and William A. Shingler and wife, Diana, of Lewistown; six grandchildren, D.J. Walters and wife, Tiffany, Kelli Millick and husband, Andrew, Remington Walters, Jonathan Shingler, Craig Shingler, Wes Shingler and fiancee, Kayla Comp; four great-grandchildren, Gerrick Walters, Jacob Walters, Parker Walters and Kinsley Millick; and a sister, Karen Hebert, of New Oxford.
Ruth was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1961.
She attended Ellen Chapel Church. Earlier in life, Ruth was a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of Touring Friends. A former member of Women of the Moose and Decatur Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, and from 10 to 11 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Hill officiating.
Interment will take place in Alfarata Cemetery.
