Roy H. Partchey Jr., 74, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:58 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Jan. 14, 1944, in Longfellow, he was the son of the late Roy H. Sr. and Dorothy (Sausser) Partchey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, William Hosler.
Roy is survived by: his wife, Mary Jane (Myers) Partchey; children, Charles A. Eversole and companion, Amy Forsythe, of State College, Craig A. Eversole and wife, Carrie, of Hampton, Va., and Douglass A. Partchey and wife, Tammy, of Lewistown; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Ann Hosler, of Port Royal; and nephew, Timothy Hosler, of Thompsontown.
He was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Class of 1961. He later chose to further his education and graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute in 1997; and from M.T.A. in 1998.
Roy served in the Marines from 1962-68 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and rifle sharpshooter badge.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid reader.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Rev. Howard Houtz officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Dec. 9, at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
