Paula S. Getz

Paula S. Getz, 61, of Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior, at 2:24 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.    

Born September 14, 1956, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Mildred L. (Mowery) Webber and her step-father, Raymond “Dick” Webber.  

Paula is survived by: her husband, Dennis J. Getz, whom she married Aug. 25, 1979; daughters, Sarah Seitz and husband, Dan, of Waldorf, Md., and Rebecca Saville and husband, Robbie, of Lynchburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Mason and Madison Seitz, and Lily, Nora and Eli Saville; and brothers, Stephen C. Burke and wife, Dorothy, and Timothy G. Burke and wife, Karen, both of Lewistown. 

She graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1974, and from Lock Haven University in 1978.

She was a very active member of Pine Glen Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where she taught Sunday School and was gameday commissioner for the Upward Basketball Program.  

Paula retired from the Mifflin County School District and taught fifth grade students at Strodes Mills Elementary School for many years.   

A Receiving of Friends will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2018, and from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Pine Glen CMA Church, 1058 SR 103 North, Lewistown.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Pine Glen CMA Church, with Reverend Wayne Spriggs and Associate Pastor James Connolly officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Paula’s name may be made to the Upward Basketball Program, c/o Pine Glen CMA Church, 1058 SR 103 North, Lewistown, PA 17044.
