Harvey N. Buckley

Harvey N. Buckley, 86, of Strodes Mills, Lewistown, passed away at 1:22 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.

Born Dec. 24, 1932, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Orville R. and Bessie K. (Chilcoat) Grove Buckley.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his half-siblings, Preston and Erford Buckley, Cordelia Allen, Agnes Booher, and William, Bruce, Lloyd and W. John Grove.

Harvey is survived by: his wife, Lois Anna (Powell) Buckley, whom he married Nov. 12, 1955; children, Marlin E. Buckley, of Conshohocken, Donna M. Miller and husband, Tracy, of Annandale, Va., and Carol B. Huffman and husband, Garry, of Machesney Park, Ill.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1950, and was a faithful member of Calvary Bible Church, Lewistown.

Harvey was employed for a time at Goss Market in Strodes Mills and ACME Markets.  He then worked for Beaver Brothers Bakery for 20 years, Marhoefer Bakery for 11 years, and lastly, at Hartley's Potato Chips for more than 17 years.  He retired May 4, 2001, and then drove for J&D's Inc. for 15 years, providing transportation for special needs patrons.

Harvey enjoyed woodworking, gardening and taking road trips with Lois throughout the United States.  He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who loved the Lord and his family more than anything.  He was creative, brilliant and skilled with his hands.  He could fix anything and make any plant grow.

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to Noon, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown.  A funeral service will follow at Noon, with Reverend Howard Houtz officiating.

Interment will take place at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rockhill Furnace, Huntingdon County.
