Gerald E. Koontz Jr.

Gerald E. Koontz Jr., 52, of Juniata Terrace, Lewistown, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at his home.

Born May 28, 1966, in Lewistown, he was a son of Gerald E. Koontz Sr. and Mary Jane (Cowan) Koontz, of Lewistown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: daughters, Samantha R. Koontz and Emily M. Koontz, both of New Bloomfield; a brother, David Koontz and wife, Beth, of Burnham; a sister, Pamela Bowersox, of Port Royal; niece, Alyssa Koontz; and nephew, Seth Bowersox.

Gerald Jr. graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1985.

In his earlier years, he was employed at Lewistown Specialty Yarns.

Gerald Jr. was a Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Phillies fan.  He enjoyed volunteering at the Lewistown Junction railway station, fishing, feeding birds, taking photos and watching races at Port Royal.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Robinson officiating.
