Eleanor M. Burge, 83, of Lewistown, passed away at 12:09 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 2, 1934, in Blairs Mills, she was a daughter of the late Robert R. and Mary (Gloss) Rhea.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Homer W. Burge, Jr.; a daughter, Eleanor B. Burge; one great-greatgrandchild, Blake Mitchell; two brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by: children, Della Hetrick, of Yeagertown, Goldie Burge, of Milroy, Patricia “Patty” Carter, and husband, Larry, Harold Burge, and wife, Cindy, Shirley E. Burge-Mock, all of Lewistown, and Sharon Walters, of Milroy; sister, Shirley Walls, of Granville; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Eleanor was a graduate of Southern Huntingdon High School, Class of 1953.
She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Eleanor loved spending time with her friends and family and also loved her cat. She enjoyed reading, watching television, and working on puzzles. She was a wonderful person that would help anyone out.
A viewing will be held from 10 – 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
Interment will take place in Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
