Dorothy E. DeArment, 97, of Granville Township, Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior, at 12:20 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019.
Born Feb. 5, 1922, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Blanche M. (Groce) Silks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Arthur D. DeArment Sr.; a daughter, Linda DeArment; sons, Larry DeArment and Arthur "Dave" DeArment Jr.; and 14 siblings.
Dorothy is survived by: eight children, Jean Davis, Gary DeArment and wife, Jan, Tina Brought, and Robert DeArment, all of Lewistown, Brenda Vega, of North Carolina, and Kim Collanbine, Tammy Shoenfelt and husband, Steve, and Holly Schaeffer, all of Lewistown; 42 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Silks, of Lewistown.
Dorothy previously attended Lake Park United Methodist Church.
She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her entire family. Hobbies included playing bingo and going to casinos. Dorothy also enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning, which helped provide food for her large family.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Lake Park United Methodist Church, 400 Crystal Springs Ave., Lewistown, with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
