Donald Norman Loht, 93, of Decatur Township, McClure, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 25, 1925, in McClure, he was a son of the late Roy Johnston and Rhoda E. (Krepps) Loht. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Roy Darvin and Kenneth J. Loht.
Donald is survived by: his wife, Mary Phyllis (Wray) Loht, whom he married Jan. 20, 1950; five children, Gail Angney and husband, Robert, and Donald Wayne Loht, both of McClure, Gregory Loht and wife, Jenny, of Lewistown, Mark Loht and wife, Paula, of Lewisberry, and Holly Yeager and husband, Bryan, of McClure; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Marie Heimbach and husband, Alton, of New Cumberland, Evelyn Renninger and husband, Gordon, of McClure, Bonalea Eisenhower, of Armonk, N.Y., June Nye, of Palmyra, and Fern Loht and wife, Ruth, of McClure.
Donald was a U.S. Army Air Force post-World War II veteran.
He was a member of Bannerville Church of The Brethren.
He was employed by Standard Steel in the melt shop for 39 years before retiring in 1987.
Donald loved his large family, working on his farm, and was a loyal Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Belltown Hunting Club in Potter County.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Bannerville Church of The Brethren, 7502 Stage Road, McClure. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., at the church, with Rev. Donald Wise officiating.
