Donald Leroy Laird

Donald Leroy 'Don' Laird, 82, of Derry Township, Lewistown, passed away at 5:42 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at his home.

Born Jan. 30, 1937, in Burnham, he was the son of the late Alonza Leroy and Bernice M. (Kahley) Laird.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Nola Pauline (Musser) Laird, whom he married June 8, 1957, on March 30, 2019; a stillborn daughter, Vanessa; and two sisters, Zelda Fidler and Arlene Porch.

Don is survived by: sons, Mark A. Laird and wife, Rochelle, of Mifflintown, and Dwayne N. Laird and wife, Lisa, of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Mark, Paula, Chase, Katie and Allison; 13 great-grandchildren, Holden, Brock, Ashlynn, Malaree, Hunter, Hayden, Kaitlyn, Autumn, Hunner, Harlee, Gavyn, Penelope and Nolan; great-great-grandchildren, Kadyn and Parker; and three sisters, Isabelle Snyder, of Glenwood, Betty Huffman and husband, Roy, of Mifflin, and Joyce Beers and husband, Ronald, of Lewistown.

Don graduated from Chief Logan High School, Class of 1955.

He was a member of Parkview Church of The Brethren.  He enjoyed woodworking.

Don was last employed by Snedeker Oil Company as an oil burner mechanic.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Parkview Church of The Brethren, 990 Parcheytown Road, Lewistown, with Pastor Teresa Fink officiating.
