Daniel Jay Kepner, 53, of Lewistown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020.
Born April 17, 1966, in Lewistown, he was a son of David D. and Joyce S. (Snook) Kepner, of Lewistown, who survive.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by: his wife, Angela M. (Schultz) Kepner, whom he married July 4, 1993; children, Derek M. Kepner and wife, Catherine, of Morgantown, W.Va., Dylan M. Kepner and wife, Kylee, Amanda M. Kepner, and Daniel M. Kepner, all of Lewistown; siblings, David Dee Kepner and wife, Maureen, of Camp Hill, Dana L. Kepner, of Lewistown, and Dessa L. Benn and husband, Darryl, of Milroy; and nephews, D.J. Kepner, Dustin Kepner, Andrew Ruble, and Dyson Treaster.
Daniel was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1984.
He served in the Navy from March to December, 1986 at Great Lakes, Ill.
He was currently employed as a long haul truck driver for the United Parcel Service.
As a youth, Daniel enjoyed playing basketball and softball. He was especially proud of being a Chief Logan basketball player from 1982 to 1983 when the team won the state championship. Daniel attended Milroy Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where he played on their basketball team. He also played softball for Lingle's Distributing (state champs), Berube's and Kentucky Fried Chicken (state champs).
Daniel's family meant everything to him and was his reason for living. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those who were fortunate to know him.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Pastor John Reed officiating.
Interment with military honors will take place at Birch Hill Cemetery, Eighth Ave., Burnham.
