Bonnie K. Jones, 66, of Milroy, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 5, 1953, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mildred G. (Stein) Jones.
She is survived by: daughter, Carly D. Schlegel, of Reedsville; grandson, Dakotah Schlegel and wife, Maddie, of Port Royal; brothers, Steve R. Jones and wife, Martha, of Mechanicsburg, and Jesse R. Jones, of Lewistown; niece, Erin Chick and husband, David, of Carlisle; and nephew, Gunnar Jones, of Lewistown.
Bonnie was a graduate of Penn Highlands High School, Class of 1971.
Earlier in life, Bonnie worked for 30 years at Red’s Diner. She most recently was employed at First Quality.
Bonnie was a dedicated, respected, hardworking and very independent woman. She was always recognized for her beautiful long hair and the abundance of silver and turquoise jewelry she wore. She was a master of handcrafts, such as leatherwork, basket weaving, and jewelry making.
She enjoyed free time with family, going to auctions and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. She found peace in relaxing at her home on the mountain and camping with family in the summer. She was a devoted caretaker of her family and will be dearly missed.
A receiving of friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
