Blaine E. Hackenberg, 59, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:25 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born October 25, 1958, in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late William Hackenberg and Kathyrn (Smith) Mader, of Milton, who survives.
In addition to his mother, Blaine is survived by: his wife, Wendy (Olmstead) Hackenberg; children, Chris Hackenberg, of Lewistown, and Brett Hackenberg and companion, Sue Snook, of Belleville; grandson, Pierson Treece; a sister, Brenda Dickerson and husband, Jeff, of Marietta, Ga.; and step-sister, Susan Sports, of Philadelphia.
He graduated from West Snyder High School.
Blaine was a very hard-working man with a strong work ethic. He was employed by Empire Kosher Poultry as a machine operator and delivered newspapers for The Sentinel for 27 years. He also mowed lawns for people.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He enjoyed going on picnics and watching golf.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Interment will take place at Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
