Betty M. (Fike) Myers, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, May 12, 2018, 6:08 p.m., at William Penn Health and Rehabilitation Center, Lewistown.
Born Nov. 20, 1921, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John William Fike and Lily Mae (Kern) Shively Fike.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Russell S. Myers Sr., whom she married Dec. 15, 1941, in February 1986; a daughter-in-law, Helen (Lauver) Myers; seven brothers, John Russell Fike, Robert Fike, Merril Fike (also known as Bill Foster), Charles Fike, Paul K. Shively, Arthur F. Shively, and William W. Shively; and seven sisters, Silver M. (Fike) Stringer, Bertha V. (Fike) Alexander Kauffman, Catherine Fike, Mabel I. (Fike) Decker, Mary T. (Shively) Stewert Shirey, Martha Shively, and Margerette (Shively) Odell.
She is survived by: four children, Russell S. Myers Jr., of Milroy, Mary Jane (Myers) Eversole Partchey and husband, Roy Jr., of Lewistown, Norman F. Myers of Zepherhills, Fla., and Diana J. Kelley and husband, Ritch (Dr.), of Clark Summit; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Himes, Angela Corcoran, Charles Eversole Jr, Craig Eversole, Douglass Partchey, Tishia Partchey, Christopher Myers, Patrick Kelley, and Allison Kelley; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was an honors graduate of Lewistown High School.
Betty was a founding member of Calvary Bible Church, Lewistown. She completed teacher training courses from the Moody Bible Institute and Friendship Book Store, and taught the Good News Club, children’s church, and ladies Bible class for over 50 years.
She was a self-employed house cleaner until retiring.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, at the funeral home, with Reverend Howard Houtz officiating.
Interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be made to Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown, PA 17044.
