Geneva 'Jean' Clark Obituary

Geneva (Jean) Woy Clark, 95, of Lewistown, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Greenwood Center for Rehab and Nursing.

Born August 16, 1928 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Gross and Bertha Mae (Stewart) Gross.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Clark, who she married on March 29, 1946; brothers, Tony and Tom Gross; and her sister, Anna Packer. Jean was the last of her siblings.

Jean is survived by her son, Jim Clark and wife, Cathy, of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Dawn Osborne and partner, Chad Kauffman, of Mifflintown, Chris Clark, of Lewistown, and Matt Clark and wife, Christy, of Lewistown; eight great-grandchildren, Chelsea Rae Naylor and husband, Zach, of Camp Hill, Hannah Osborne, of California, Mackenzie Zimmerman and husband, Drew, of Reading, Noah Kauffman, of Mifflintown, Sylus Clark, Kenneth Rapp, Bradley Rapp and Spring Rapp, all of Lewistown; three great-great-grandchildren, Maleah and Miles Naylor, of Camp Hill, and Ridge Rapp, of Lewistown; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Lewistown, and a member of a woman’s bowling league, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Henderson Fire Company and the Brooklyn Hose Company.

She quit school in the tenth grade to help take care of her ill mother. When she was in her late fifties she went back to school and obtained her GED, which she was very proud of.

In her early years, Jean worked at McCory’s five and dime store in Lewistown. She worked with her husband, Bob 45 years at Clark’s Hardware on Market St. in Lewistown.  After retiring, Jean wrapped Christmas gifts at the Bon Ton for a couple of years.

She loved her whole family and extended families. She was a beautiful woman with a very kind heart as he would help anyone in need especially her family. When Bob went into a nursing home, she never missed a day of being there for him for the 3 years he was there.

When Jean was eight years old, her Dad made a little covered wagon which was pulled by her little dog and had dolls in it that someone gave her. She won a prize for the prettied dog float at the fair. Her picture was in the paper and she talked about the picture many times. It was one of her most prized possessions.

Jean loved life and was always smiling and having a good time with her family and friends. Her favorite eatery was the Trolley car in which her and her brother, Tom patronized every morning. She loved to roller skate, even in her seventies. She also enjoyed crocheting.
