Ronald M. Henry

Ronald M. Henry, 67, of Alfarata, passed away due to complications of cancer at 9:02 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born October 30, 1949, in Lewistown, he was a son of Merle Henry, of Alfarata and Ruth (Steffen) Henry, of Lewistown, who survive.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Henry, in Dec. 2016.

Ron is survived by: his wife, Rena Kay (Druckemiller) Henry, whom he married Nov. 8, 1995; step-daughter, Lisa Henry, of Lewistown; step-grandson, Penns Rheam, of Lewistown; brother, Harold Henry and wife, Leslie, of Hanover; and three step-brothers, Raymond Rossman and wife, Sara, of McClure, Donald Rossman and wife, Beverly, and Mark Rossman and wife, Cindy, both of Lewistown.

Ron graduated from Chief Logan High School, Class of 1967.

He served in the Navy from 1968 to 1980.

Ron was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alfarata.

He worked at the former Lear Corporation for 17 years prior to its closing in 2004.  He was a self-employed handyman and was most recently employed at the Keystone Complex home improvement warehouse in McClure.

Ron served on the Decatur Township Planning Commission, assisted with building and grounds maintenance at the Decatur Sportsman’s Club, and was a life member of the National Rifle Association and local VFW Post 7011.  He enjoyed hunting and loved his beagles.  

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., Feb. 18, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Burnham, 108 First Ave., with the Reverend Bill Esborn and Mr. Donald Morgan officiating.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 17, at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in the Alfarata Lutheran Cemetery, with military honors provided by VFW Post 7011.
