Phyllis I. Davis, 90, of Lewistown, passed away at 5:30 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at Ohesson Manor.
Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Yeagertown, she was a daughter of the late Charles B. Eward and Marguerite (Yeater) Eward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry E. Eward.
Phyllis was also preceded in death by: her first husband, Paul M. Richard, who she had married in February 1946 and he was killed in an auto accident in Nov. of 1952; and her second husband, Benjamin L. Davis, who she had married in July of 1972. He passed away Jan. 12, 2008.
She is survived by: daughter, Mary Frances Gutshall and husband, Curtis, of Mifflintown; two grandchildren, Dusty Weiand and husband, Mike, and Shane Armstrong and wife, Elizabeth; six great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and one sister-in-law, Donna Eward, of Florida.
Phyllis was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Lewistown.
She was a graduate of Burnham High School, Class of 1945.
During her lifetime, she worked at Lewistown Dry Cleaners, Sears Roebucks and Co., Reedsville, National Bank (later Russell) and at Burnham Y.M.C.A.
She enjoyed reading and puzzle books.
A viewing will be held from 10 – 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., 108 First Ave. Burnham with a funeral service to follow at 11 with Rev. Douglas Sherlock officiating.
Interment will take place in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham.
