Nellie A. Walter, 93, of Belleville, passed away at 10:40 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.
Born September 17, 1923, in Struthers, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John James and Petronele (Adams) Urbutis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, John Urbutis and Anna Nevers.
Nellie is survived by: her husband of 70 years, Lawrence E. Walter; her nieces, Janet Nevers and Cathy Barnett; and a nephew, Larry Yankavskas.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Belleville.
She was employed as a secretary for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and spent her entire working career in the Baltimore area.
After retirement, Nellie and her husband moved to Belleville, then later resided at Valley View, where they both became active within the Valley View community. Nellie was highly efficient and organized, and especially enjoyed planning many bus trips for the residents. She was also an excellent golfer.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017 at Valley View Haven Chapel, 4702 E. Main St., Belleville with Rev. Gerald Peachey and Rev. Rosalee Smith officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, Pa.
