Mary "Lee" Rosalie (Gervais) Eldredge

Mary Rosalie “Lee” Eldredge, 87, of Lewistown, passed away at 5:20 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2017 at Ohesson Manor.

Born Jan. 12, 1930, in Midland, Ontario Canada, she was the daughter of the late Eva M.R. (Gilson) and Wilbert K. Gervais.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McGregor Eldredge, Jr., whom she married on June 20, 1953, and he passed away on January 22, 2017.

She is survived by: children, Susan Evans and husband, Harry “Bill”, of Port Charlotte, Fla., the Reverend Charles Eldredge and wife, Barbara, of Lewistown, and Kathy Taft and husband, Mark, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; eight grandchildren: Cinnamon Hess and husband, John, Rev. Megan Lester and husband, Timothy, Mary King and husband, Andrew, Amy Eldredge, Allison Eldredge, Matthew Taft, Elyse Taft, and Rachael Taft; and two great-grandchildren; Joanna Hess and Charlotte King.

Mary earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, Class of 1952. Earlier in life, she was employed as an occupational therapist.

She was a member of Maitland Church of the Brethren. Mary also was involved in the Stephen’s Ministry program at First Presbyterian Church in Pittsford, New York.

Mary was a loving grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren at Conesus Lake and Sanibel Island. She also enjoyed needle point, knitting, sewing, gardening, reading, cooking and piano.  She was a member of the Geneseo County Needle Point Guild.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 18 and from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19 with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Church of the Brethren, 315 Crossover Dr., Lewistown, with Pastor Jeannine Berube officiating.

Interment will take place in Maitland Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
