Marlin Lee Rhodes

Marlin Lee Rhodes, 59, of Lewistown, died at 10:10 a.m., Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born July 28, 1957 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Dale K. Rhodes and Hannah June (Harshbarger) Rhodes, who survives.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by: his sister, Susan J. Grumbine, on July 25, 2015; maternal grandparents, Howard M. Harshbarger and Lorma E. (Fry) Harshbarger; and paternal grandparents, Roy Rhodes and Belle (Kimberly) Rhodes.

In addition to his mother, Marlin is survived by: his brothers, Jeffrey Dale Rhodes and David Lynn Rhodes, both of Maitland,  sister, Beverly J. Meyer and husband, Dennis, of Faribault, Minnesota; nephews, Michael Synder and wife, Kelsey, and Timothy D. Meyer; two great-nieces, Avri Rose Benolken and Braelyn Skye Snyder; and one great- nephew, Zeyden Michael Synder.

Marlin was a graduate of Mt. Union High School, Class of 1977.

Earlier in life, he attended Ryde Methodist Church.

He loved to watch Steelers and Penn State football games and Pirates baseball.

Marlin enjoyed hunting, fishing, bike riding, and walks with his family.  In his early years, he liked helping at his uncles’ farm.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 19 at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St. Lewistown.

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
