John H. Clark, 85, of Lewistown died at 5:55 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born June 3, 1929 in Spruce Hill Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late John F. and Eleanor (Oakeson) Clark.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Dorwart.
John is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Yarger) Clark, whom he married in 1958; his children, Tina J. Clark, of Beavertown and Timothy J. Clark, of Lewistown, a grandchild, Ian Clark, also of Lewistown, and a sister, Minnie Minick, of Mifflin.
He was a 1947 graduate of Juniata High School.
John played professional baseball from 1949-1952, playing minor league baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals as a catcher.
He retired from Standard Steel in 1992 as a supervisor.
John was a devoted husband, wonderful father and the best grandfather in the world. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. John’s greatest joy came nine years ago when his grandson, Ian, was born.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
A private interment will take place in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s name may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan
St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
