Imogene C. Gramley

Imogene C. Gramley, 100, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018.

Born Sept. 13, 1917, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late John H. Wilson and Beulah (Baney) Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Raymond Q. Gramley; three brothers, Bruce, Simon, and Eugene Wilson; and a sister, Florence Harpster.

She is survived by: children, Raymond E. Gramley and wife, Barbara, of Mechanicsburg, Jerry A. Gramley and wife, Louise, of Reedsville, Barbara J. Menegat and husband, Joseph, of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, David Gramley and wife, Tamara, of Boiling Springs, Paulette Mitcheltree and husband, Tom, of Dover, Philip Gramley and husband, Wayne Ambrose, of Piketown, Jerry “Cork” Gramley Jr. and wife, Tracey, of Reedsville, Angela Hassara and husband, Robert “Ward” Frederick, of Mechanicsburg; and six great-grandchildren.

Imogene worked at the American Viscose Corporation early in her life.

She was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She went back to college and received a degree in food preparation at Penn State Outreach. She would go hunting and fishing, enjoyed gardening and canning food. Imogene was a member of the Travelers Club and loved to go on bus trips with her husband.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, (Woodlawn), with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jerri Carlin officiating.

Interment will take place in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Lewistown.
