Harry V. “Ozzy” Osborne, 92, of Burnham passed away at 4:24 p.m., Sunday, May 21, 2017 at his home. 

Born May 18, 1925 in Burnham, he was a son of the late Lilly M. (Stringfellow) and Harry M. Osborne. 

He is survived by: his wife, June E. (Brown) Osborne, whom he married on Sept. 6, 1947; his children, Patty Attivo, of Burnham, James J. Osborne and wife, Diana K., of Virginia; Vickie Shoemaker and husband, Steven, of Reinholds, four grandchildren, Kelly, Rodney Sr., Marc and Jessica; six great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Rodney Jr., Tye, Aidan and Braylon; three great-great-grandchildren, Anna, Layla and Kenneth; siblings, Mary Lou Earnest,  Larry Osborne and wife, Leona, Barbara Fink and companion, Jack Watson, all of Lewistown, and Linda Byler and husband, Paul, of Belleville. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Jammi; a great-granddaughter, Kristina; siblings, Wanda Miller, Clara Colabine and Jay Osborne; and son-in-law, Terry Attivo.

Ozzy was a graduate of Burnham High School, Class of 1942. 

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-1946. He served on the front lines in communications in the Philippines and Japan. 

Harry had worked as a mechanic at The Viscose for 30 years, and then later, at Fisher Electronics.

He was a protestant by faith and a member of the Burnham Fire Company. 

Harry’s family always came first and then sports. He coached the Avenue Raiders in midget football for 25 years. Ozzy enjoyed watching the Phillies and the Eagles. In his earlier years, he played semi-pro football for the Lewistown Steamrollers. Most of all he loved watching his grandsons play sports. Ozzy also loved family trips to the beach and fishing.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham with Chaplain Carrie Stine officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment with VFW Post 7011 honors will take place in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
