Rev. Harold N. Imes, 86, of Mifflintown, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior at 10:30 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 17, 1931, in Doyles Mills, Juniata County, he was the son of the late J. Neimond and Sylvia M. (Smith) Imes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Frances M. (Ellett) Imes, whom he married June 12, 1954; two infant brothers; and three sisters.
Harold is survived by: his children, James W. Imes and wife, Michele, of Punxsutawney, Rev. Timothy H. Imes and wife, Rhonda, of Wellsville, and Sandra K. Liuzzo and husband Jeff, of Greenfield Township; four grandchildren, Andy and Neil Imes, Cyndee Noss, and Candace Shipley; two step-granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty L. Glass, of Shippensburg.
Rev. Imes attended Eastern Bible Institute/University of Valley Forge. He was ordained as a minister in 1965 by the Assemblies of God.
Rev. Imes ministered and served on various sectional and district level committees in the PennDel District. He ministered in the following Assembly of God Churches: Royersford, Orbisonia, Hollentown, Clarks Summit, Muncy, Pennsburg, Shade Gap, Mifflintown, and Lewistown.
Upon his retirement in 1995, he continued serving as an interim pastor at many area churches.
His service spanned a period of 60 years. He also enjoyed telling stories and spending time with his family.
A viewing will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Tues., Jan. 9, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. His funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., at the funeral home, with Rev. Timothy Imes and Rev. Dennis Sproull officiating.
