Florence L. Weaver, 92, of Lewistown passed away at 9:20 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 28, 1924, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Carrie E. (Moist) and Chester D. Adams.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Ray L. Weaver; a daughter, Wanda M. Shirk; five sisters, Susie College, Grace Mezerek, Dora Zeiders, Blanche Adams and Mary Settles and four brothers, Miles Adams, Melvin B. Adams, Homer Adams and Richard Adams..
She is survived by: her sister, Charlotte “Betsy” Fisher, of McVeytown; daughter, Connie L. Cryst and husband, Bruce, of Barbersville, Virginia; step-daughter, Linda Armstrong and husband, Harold, of McVeytown; son-in-law, Steve Shirk; grandchildren, Dawn Thomas and husband, Bill, of Ruckersville, Virginia, Richard L. Rhoades, Jr. and wife, Marci, of Lewistown, Wayne Cryst and wife, Marti, of Belles, Texas, Lisa A. Dobbs, of Lewistown, Vicki Pratt and husband, Ken Sr., of Tenn., and Barry Armstrong and wife, Stephanie, of Strodes Mills; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Earlier in life, she had worked at FMC American Viscose for 24 years, and later, at Ohesson Manor for 11 years.
She attended Calvary Bible Church in Lewistown.
Florence was a member of Act II Retirees.
She enjoyed sewing, traveling, Calvary Seniors and Super Seniors, but most of all, enjoyed baking pies and desserts for her family.
A graveside service will be held at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown with Rev. Howard Houtz officiating at a later date and at the convenience of the family.
