Eleanor J. (Kennedy) White

Eleanor J. White, 97, of Belleville, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at Valley View.

Born Feb. 26, 1919, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Martha (Heller) and Charles Kennedy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 48 years, John S. White, on Aug. 14, 1985; a son, Thomas C. White; a daughter- in-law, Mariam J. White; and a brother, William J. Kennedy.

She is survived by: a son, Robert J. White and wife, Linda, of Granville; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, Amy Hunter and her husband, Tim, Robyn Laub and her husband, Mark, John White and his wife, Kim, Tina Stoner and her husband, Anthony, Steven White and his wife, Theresa, Bobbie Jo White, Kristy Bagrosky and her husband, Chad, Melissa Basom and her husband, Brandon and Danielle Wagner; 19 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.

Eleanor graduated from Altoona High School.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the O.U.R. Sunday school class.

She was also a member of the East Granville and Junction fire companies’ ladies’ auxiliaries; a committee member of Troop 68, Boy Scouts of America; and Ladies of the Moose, Lewistown.

She was a fan of Penn State football, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and enjoyed going to the Pirates training camp in Florida for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Randy Hughes officiating.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
